Our brief was to create a 2-3minute film for the launch of the West Tower at Chelsea Waterfront. The film had to encapsulate the elegance and height of the development, the ‘Royal yet hip’ location, the unparalleled views and the unique light that attracted famous artists to this side of the Thames. Drawing on Terry Farrell’s original concept of both towers being a dancing couple, we filmed a ballerina in slow-motion on a black background. Her beautiful and elegant movement created the sense of the building being both the icon ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ and a ‘muse’ as we follow our hero couple, discovering the wonders of their new home and its surroundings.

Filming the Four Seasons London flagship hotel required more than the stereotypical approach that has become so commonplace and predictable. To meet the challenge we employed a small army of crew and hired an arsenal of equipment, top of the range cameras, steadicam, prime lenses and our own lighting van. This enabled us to capture graceful, flowing, slow-motion shots that give the audience a sense of discovery as they enter each magnificent area within the building. The editing and music style combine to hold audience engagement in a relaxing and inviting manner that compliments the Four Seasons brand values.

We have produced films and photography for the past four years for Sunreef Yachts in various locations: France, Singapore and their shipyard in Gdańsk. Our shoot in Dubai allowed us to film on pristine ‘pond-flat’ turquoise waters in front of the world famous skyline. Fantastic local cast and crew made the almost impossible possible with outstanding results.

We were tasked with the brief of creating a lifestyle film of the Golf and Country Club and all its new facilities for the sales & marketing team. With plans of the renovation still on the drawing board we focused on the beauty of this icon of the golfing world. Prep-dawn starts to capture sunrises over the course and complex flight plan permissions for our aerial drone filming were on test on everyone. The wonderful team at Wentworth and some very forgiving grounds keepers kept the show on the road. Our cast included a possible future James Bond but that like Wentworth itself is a closely kept secret by those in the know.

Annually we produce a film completely at our own expense for a charity of our choice. So when we were approached by Publicis LifeBrands to produce an advert to help in the fight against the biggest killer on the planet, we couldn’t refuse. We are extremely grateful to all those who worked for free or at reduced rates and to Panalux & Panavision for giving us hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of equipment to make the film possible. Also to Stephen Mangan to lending his voice to the main character, to Jonathan (GoT) Symmonds and his team for such great work on the mosquito and Don McVey DoP whose cinematography won the film a Sliver CLIO award and an IPA Bronze.

You might know the feeling you get when halfway through an extremely complicated project where so much could potentially go wrong, the client calls you in for an unexpected meeting, but then offers you an even larger project. That was the start of our incredibly fun journey producing this advert for Trainline. Through the process of having our first three scripts turned down, to nearly not being allowed to cast a nonagenarian (92) to locations where we were not permitted to film the all important ticket machines. Overcoming all these hurdles made producing this re-fashioning of Aesop’s ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’ such a triumph for all the team.
